About Us
Our Story
We are Daniel and Louisa Barry and this is our family. We started planning this project in 2010 and after searching for the perfect location, we settled on the quiet and beautiful Aberdeenshire coast. Amenities are close to hand but we are still in a rural setting surrounded by farm land, offering the best of both.
Our Passion
We are very passionate about the environment and the detrimental effect that modern living is having on the future of the planet. Our passion for sustainable buildings and traditional building techniques is what prompted us to commence this venture. The lodges have been designed with this in mind, utilising natural building materials, techniques and local tradesmen with the hope of inspiring others to take on alternative building methods.
Our Ethos
When we started planning this project, we wanted to make sure we were sympathetic to the environment in the design and build. We have used local tradesmen and suppliers wherever possible, carrying out the majority of the work ourselves and using recycled materials. We wanted to show the possibilities of using eco friendly building materials to create a comfortable living space. Our priority is the comfort of our guests whilst promoting a reduce/reuse/recycle outlook.
